These Eye Creams Gave Me Milia
Starting out, I believed all eye creams were created equal. Now I know that isn't true. Apparently, there are eye creams out there in the world that will hydrate, de-puff, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles without causing milia. I haven't found any.
The Eye Cream Burn Book
- YES! to Blueberries Age Refresh Eye Firming Treatment -- I was testing this out while debating if I should re-purchase the Keihl's avocado eye cream, and this did the job of moisturizing fairly well. And then the milia began. So, I dropped this one (but for some reasons till keep the bottle in the back of my cabinet?) and started using the
- e.l.f Nourishing and Illuminating Eye Cream -- this is by far the worst offender of the bunch. Immediately, I saw worsened bumps under my eyes and this stuff actually burned when I put it on. I don't normally have sensitive skin, but this was unusable.
- Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream -- this one is not bad. It's fine. I liked it enough. It did all the things an eye cream is supposed to, and it's super thick and creamy which I love. But it didn't do anything to make the milia any better, and I started to feel like it was getting worse. So, I moved on to
- Ole Henriksen...something? -- it seems they've discontinued this product, but it was similar to the Badescu one in terms of results I saw. They were minimal and weren't doing what needed to be done.
I know there are eye creams out there that can help, and I'll find one. I've been reading about eye serums and oils, which intrigue me. Until then, I've stopped using eye creams altogether, and now I just use my facial moisturizer under my eyes. Some people say you aren't supposed to do this, but it's only been an improvement for my skin.
